Sample Letter of Inquiry to a Corporation

Dear Ms. Connors:

ABC Corporation has demonstrated an interest in the problems of teen alcohol and drug use in our community. New Hope Treatment Center is launching a new program of outreach into the public and private schools in the Corporate City area, and we hope ABC Corporation will consider a proposal for a grant to this program.

(Briefly include the following in the body of the letter:

• describe your case,
• establish credibility for your organization,
• mention any links your organization has to the corporation,
• assert the value of the new program,
• describe the features and benefits of the new program and give its total cost,
• mention other corporate supporters who have already given,
• describe what ABC Corporation will get for its support.)

We would be happy to send you a full proposal, which includes a detailed budget and timelines for implementation. I will call you in a few days to make sure you received this letter and to answer any questions you might have at that time.
